A week already!

Has it really been a week since I've last posted? Amazing! Where has the time gone? I'd better bring us up to date.

Last weekend, we had a really nice weekend weather-wise. First time I can remember a sunny weekend in a long time. We got the garden tidied up and managed to sit out for a bit as well. We didn't do much of anything really, just soaked up the good weather.

On Monday, Evan had his Sports Day. I hadn't intended to stay in the morning, but I wanted to make sure that Friends of the School had everything set up and running okay. There was plenty of help, thankfully, but I still didn't get to leave until 10.30. Dave and I went back up after lunch for Evan's races. He is such a wonderful boy, participating purely for the fun of it. He is no runner, which is knows and even though he didn't have to run the marathon, he did. Ahh, it breaks my heart to see him coming last every time, but he does it with a smile, bless him. We made quite a bit of money on the day.

On Tuesday, Dave and I took Duff out for a walk. I was keen for Dave to come because he has more control over Duff than I do. I didn't want him pulling. Duff can't help himself though as he loves his walks. We kept it very short and Duff managed okay, albeit on a very short lead!

So, on Wednesday, I thought I can do this, I'll take Duff for a walk. He just wants to be off! I did give him more lead and went at his pace, which basically saw me being pulled down the road. We went quite a bit further and when we came back, I wondered if I had taken him too far. He was tired, but his leg didn't seem to bother him much; however, I did notice that he wasn't putting it down quite as much.

Thursday was paper day. Evan said he would help after school, so that was brilliant. It was a heavy week this week.

And today, Dave and I managed to get all the papers done just minutes before the heavens opened again. Very depressing weather for the time of year. I've had some work today and Dave's been to Bangor to get flooring for the upstairs. It is very exciting! He had to make two trips though as he forgot the underlay. Duff went with him the second time. Evan's gone to a friend's house, which is just brilliant as it meant I didn't have to stand in the pouring rain to wait for him. I'll get him about 7.30.

I've been stitching this week and really enjoying myself. Sea Stars is moving along nicely, but it would progress much faster if I could keep my nose out of a book. I'll post a progress picture later today or tomorrow.

I also spoke to Mrs Gibbard this morning about an end-of-year gift. I said I would love to stitch her something, realising I have already done her a piece, or would she prefer a gift certificate or wine, or what? With a week until school finishes, imagine my surprise when she said she'd love another stitched piece! What on earth am I going to do? I don't want to do another teacher piece as I've done that already. Maybe a Sweetheart Tree piece as they are wonderful when done up. I'll be busy this weekend, for sure.

I still have Alli's Tatty Ted RR to get going on and I have a Michael Powell model on the way. Those books really need to go away!
