We had a pretty uneventful weekend--nothing but rain. Quite depressing really. However, during the course of Saturday and Sunday, I managed to get the wallpaper stripped in the hallway going up the stairs. This paper has been here since we bought the house in 2004 and is woodchip paper, which is truly awful. You have to peel it off in two layers and there are little bits of wood going everywhere. I'm glad that is done.
I also managed to get quite a bit stitched on Sea Stars. After checking with Jayne of Jayne's Attic, I am allowed to post pictures as I go, so on Wednesday I will do that, giving a full week's picture. The colours are fabulous.
Duff is doing okay. He managed to pull a stitch out on Saturday though while no one was watching him. The wound hasn't opened, thankfully, and he is already putting weight on it. I just get so worked up because he just goes flying through the house and I'm worried he's going to bang his leg or something. We took him out for a bit of a drive on Sunday because he looks thoroughly bored always lying on his blanket. Even then, he was dying to jump out of the car and have a walk about.
Evan has gone on his school trip today. They have gone here http://www.greenwood-centre.co.uk/ for the day. The sun is only now coming out, but at least it hasn't rained.
I also heard that my grandmother died on Saturday. My grandad died in February and I didn't think she would last a year without him, but I certainly didn't expect it this soon. She had a viral infection which developed into pneumonia.
Dave also called to say that his maintenance team has been given notice of redundancies. He feels it is going to be him that goes. Oh dear, another worry!
So, I've had a very slow day today. No work has arrived, which is always frustrating. I did manage to get the floor vacuumed without Duff running off somewhere. He hates the vacuum.
Evan has his last swimming lesson today. I'm not sure whether he will go up to the next level or not, but I hope he does.
