Bandage taken off

It's not been a bad day today. The weather started off wet but it cleared in time for me to do my other paper route this morning.

Duff seems to be coping okay, although I do feel he is in pain. I had trouble getting him out this morning, but that was soon fixed by offering him a piece of pastrami! He still seems perky enough, but he hasn't really eaten anything much since the operation.

Dave took him this afternoon to the vet's to have the bandage off as I didn't think I could stomach it. We thought the vet would struggle doing this as today, Duff wouldn't let us even touch his leg, the pain is that bad. Dave said the vet had it off no problem and Duff was fine. The incision is about 6 inches long and not the most pleasant of things to look at. The vet was impressed that he was actually putting his toe on the floor already. No pain medication was given as they feel the animal will then feel no pain and therefore think they are okay. Doesn't seem fair when we wouldn't be expected to go without. The vet is not overly worried that he isn't eating. His stitches come out next Friday.

I've had a bit of work to do this afternoon, so Dave and Evan went to get some groceries. I'm waiting for the call to tell me they are on their way home so I can put the oven on to cook the lasagne I made earlier. Yum!

I did a bit of stitching last night, again not starting until about 10.00. I really need to get going. Hopefully tonight I'll get a half decent amount done.
